EFFECTS OF TEENAGE PREGNANCY

There are many effects of teenage pregnancy, which it has on the individual as a person, the family as well as the society at large. Looking at this issue majority of them are not aware on what they are into they think they are just having fun until they discover that they are pregnant then everything around them change even some of their best friends starts distancing themselves from them.

As a teenager you are  still very much dependent on your parent such a girl has not yet got to the stage of taking care of  hers talk much of become a mother of a baby, at this particular stage she should be  paying more attention to her studies. Now getting pregnant at this tender age surly will have a negative effect on her education, for some that is the end of schooling while others that is the end of their life career and all about her life have automatically changed all she would be thinking about is how she can take  care of her new born baby which now  becomes a responsibility to her, invariably a new world of her’s has started, this is what she did not plan for.

There are many causes that influence teenage pregnancy, some include peer group, moving with friend of questionable charter who are living notorious life, another way that teens can easily get pregnant is visiting night clubs, staying late at night, not under the supervision of their parents, indulging in drugs and alcohol, and other  social vises thus encourages this sort of situation.

Ways To Stop Teenage Pregnancy

Yes, there are ways or better option that one can take to stopping such act, firstly parents have a role to play in this matter, when the child is growing up the child should be well disciplined they should adopt the method of “spare the rod spoil child”, letting her know what is right from what is wrong this is the first stage in the right upbringing of teenagers.

Peer groups: the type of people she moves with is also plays a significant role  there is a popular saying “bird of the same kind flocks together”,  thus if  all of her friend are of bad behavior then she will surly copy from them hence parent need to know the kind of friend their teens are moving with because at this stage they can easily be influence by  friends and will like to do or try out what their friends are doing especially when it has to do with teens getting into relationship.

Also parents should not be ashamed to discuss certain vital issues with their teenage child  issues such has having a boy friend or a girlfriend,  drugs, alcohol and even early pregnancy. They should let them know the consequence in indulging in such act and how it will affect their education negatively.

If these steps are adhered to, certainly the effects of teenage pregnancy will greatly reduce in our society.
